Not my cup of tea.

I would rather drivers see me and think "other road user" than they see me and think "f*** a copper" shortly followed by indignation when they realise they have been had.

Looks naff Sambu.

Plus drivers don't like being told to slow down/put their mobile phone away.

Usually invites more grief than necesssary. Do without if I was you or your girlfriend.

Very clever (If legal) and would work really well on a motorcycle as most drivers wouldnt be able to look for long enough to read it properly and become upset as a result. Would work especially well for a pal of mine who rides a white BMW disguised as a police motorbike for this very reason.

But on a bicycle, I think it would get you into more hot water than it was worth.

We've been over this ground before some time ago. If you wear something that is designed to look like police uniform, you could be at risk of arrest.

According to http://www.wikicrime..._police_officer:

Section 90 Police Act 1996 creates several offences relating to the impersonation of police officers or the possession of articles of police uniform, namely:

  • impersonating a police officer (including a special constable);
  • making a statement or doing any act calculated falsely to suggest membership of a police force;
  • wearing a police uniform calculated to deceive;
  • possessing an article of police uniform. (Archbold 22-62)
The circumstances of the case may disclose more than one of these offences.

NB: The words "calculated to deceive "means likely to deceive" and therefore the fact that there was no intent to deceive is immaterial Turner v Shearer [1972] 1 WLR 1387 DC
