Epic fail that is!

Last week the 'o' ring on my specialised AirForce pump went.
A very busy weekend so no chance to replace it.

Anyway, yesterday I left work to find my rear tyre flat, out came the spare, Co2 pump and levers, off, check, Clean and replace then attach pump and up it went, no problem with my new TACX pump.
This morning riding to work... Yes you guessed it...another flat on the rear, 2-miles from work.
Upended the bike, off with the tyre, changed to 2nd new tube after fully checking the tyre ( completely off) then refit and pumps up using my 2nd cylinder, went to disconnect and the bloody inflator had jammed/frozen the valve in so out all the very nice 120psi of air went.
So there I was, 2-miles from work, no pump and 10 minutes late.
Took out my mobile to ring in...battery at 1% and it died as I attempted the call...

So, off I toddled in my roadie SPD-SL shoes but luckily I had my cleat covers - tip-tapping like some Lycra-clad bike toting tyrannies in heels.
3/4 mile from worko ne of my team comes up on his bike and after re-telling the saga, I borrowed his Lezyne mini and attempted to inflate the offending tyre... For some reason the stupid screw on valve adapter kept tightening the Presta valve closed so stumped.

I gave up, walked the last 3/4mile and got into work 40 minutes late, emailed the wife and got picked up at tea time - left the bike and I'll collect it tomorrow

Sometimes fate just ain't on your side!

Methinks a visit to LBS tomorrow

You get days like that some times if you'd been driving to work the sump would have fallen off the car with the engine seizing in the outside lane of the motorway  thank your luck stars that the flat will be easy to sort out.
