I have been offered to buy these bikes. I'm only interested in them if I can make some money on them. There are 2x Holdsworths and a 531 Royal Enfeild all from the 50's he claims. He said he wants £400 for each Holdsworth and £200 for the Royal. He claims that I could get double that once cleaned up and working. I don't really know much about these bike but is this guy pulling my leg?

Sorry for the bad pictures but thats all hes given me.

How much does it cost to Oldham?
Maybe before 2008 ish but i dont think you'd be pulling bug bucks for vintage bikes at the moment.

IMO.

That said there's plenty to be said for refurb for the love of it.

The above Holdsworth Cyclone frame is for sale at £215 by Hilary Stone, however on e-bay there can be a bit of a bunfight if two people want the same bike and the prices can get silly.

However, the prices do seem a little steep for those bikes given the work that they will need, even if they have nice kit like the Chater Lea Chainset....

Fab looking machines! a lot of commitment in money, time & selling all 3 though. (but I guess you do this all the time)
I suppose you'd probably get more discount if you bought them as a job lot, but if it were me I'd just try to buy the best one for my best price.. If Hilary Stone's retailing at that price they must have got it trade pretty cheap

Going on the last picture, the 531 decal
"Main triangle only is 531 Plain Guage. Used until at least 1965"

As for the value, there's a couple of Royal Enfield's on e bay at between £25 & £50

I'm with you on this, why would someone sell something that would be worth what he says 'done up easy' and not do it themselves.
Blokes a 'Chancer' IMO

Probably can't be buggered,or he knows fark all about bikes, looked them up on google fu,saw the word vintage and thought he was onto a winner.
@biggs682 .Before I saw your post,I was about to write "See Biggs"

@OskarTennisChampion thank you

the more i look at the limited pictures the more i think @shadaboot27 should go and see them in the flesh and get some better pictures and a more detailed description of the bikes and the components fitted to them .

I cant see much profit in them to be honest but there might be a collector out there who wants one of them for what ever reason no matter what the cost is .

@shadaboot27 are you prepared to say roughly where in the uk they are seeing as you are in the next county down from me ^_^

As I have said before, the value of the bike is in the restoration and care of the bike.
Making it usable with your own two hands and having something unique as opposed to a modern day one.
The Wester Ross being a great example. It rocks.
I think this guy is a chancer as @raleighnut said.
See the word "vintage" and think they are sitting on some money
The bikes are priceless all right, but in a way only cyclists know
