Anodising and laser etching ain’t cheap. Both of which are critical for this to function properly.

I know what it is, I have threaded rod, just want to source the end bits.

A scrap rod/bar/plate of aluminium drilled & tapped would work.

That's what I use just now, 2 nuts, washers and a couple of blocks of wood with threaded rod,
