The Newcranes. They gave away cassette EPs at The Octagon in, I think, 1994, when they were supporting The Saw Doctors. It was a great gig and I loved the EP, but lost it at some point. I’ve searched for them a few times over the years and not found anything, but they are now on Spotify. And it’s Newcranes, not New Cranes, which is what I had been searching for.

Currently listening to All for You - the Best of Cold Chisel, a NZ band I discovered while listening to Radio Hauraki on the net. They are also responsible for my Midnight Oil CDs. 2 bands from the antipodes, Oil (now sadly disbanded) are/were environmental very early on, lead singer even became a MP and minister!
