Listening to Radio Caroline on 648kHz AM - thats a distance of 100 miles - for the nerds its an AOR AR5000A communications receiver with a large K9AY directional antenna outside -

They are playing Joan Armatrading - I remember John Peel playing tracks from her first album in 1976

I've played that to many, many people. They were all shocked by the idea but ended up being very confused by the fact that yes, it really does work!
