THIS arrived on Thursday. 5 concerts recorded 11-17 May 1977 (that's right, May 1977!). Listening doesn't get any more enjoyable than this.

Finally found a streamable source of this particular rendition of MYSTERY TRAIN

Jerry in incendiary form, playing in one of his long-lasting non-Dead projects. Starts out in a laidback rolling groove, then at 2'40" he commences the solo, gradually cranking it up through a tempo-doubling at 4'16" to a nice crescendo, before briefly relaxing but then deciding he wants to go round again and letting loose with some frenzied chops, bends and gorgeous syncopation, finally arriving at the inevitable "and rest" moment after a classic 1977(!) 10-minute tour de force.

Texas finest roadhouse blues band The Fabulous Thunderbirds 'Knock Yourself Out'. Touring the UK next month, got my tickets already. They're playing with the lesser known ZZ Top in Holland too, that'd be a good night!!!
