Billy Bacon and the Forbidden Pigs, 'The Other White Meat' - produced by Dave 'The Blasters' Alvin.
Rock and Roll with a Tex-Mex blues flavour.

Also Captain Beefheart 'Drury Lane 74' has been getting a good run out. It's an album I hadn't heard of until it was mentioned (I seem to recall) by our very own Foghat. It's very cool with some superb musicianship by The Capt. and not the Magic Band as they'd all fecked off over a money dispute apparently. Full Moon, Hot Sun is as funky as anything that has ever been or will be, probably, nice bluesy This is the Day too - great LP if a little short on time, hope it wasn't the full set. If you were there, you're a lucky bugger!

Yes, I do promote that CD a fair bit! Glad you're enjoying it too. You're right, the joyously chooglin' Full Moon Hot Sun is a real pinnacle of feelgood live music! And Capt's deep, gruff rumblings on Mirror Man are great to sing along to....

Interestingly, some more video and audio recordings of that 1974 line-up have emerged on Youtube, which I was pleased to see:

Manchester 1974

Paris 1974 Part 1

Paris 1974 Part 2

Kansas 1974

Some more Full Moons in there! :becool:

Wowser Foghat! thought you'd gone quiet, now we know why - guess we'll see you back, say, early next year

Beautiful looking set - how's the sound? I see dead.net are releasing the shows individually, any outstanding recommendations from '72?*

*obviously when you've listened to a few more!

The sound is very high quality indeed - analogue recordings in those days were so much better than later digital ones. CD-set is presented very nicely too....

One early recommendation - in the first concert, at Wembley on 7 April 1972, Jerry gets quite excited in Beat It On Down the Line, setting a great precedent for the tour. I'll report back on more highlights once I'm further through.

All this talk of being showered by falling satellites reminded me of a Captain Beefheat line... "...think I'm gonna get hit...". I couldn't find the song but listened to this great one from ClearSpot.....I love the chord progression.
