What are you bad at?

This thread is like the opposite of a CV! If you have a wife or partner of long standing and you ask them what you are bad at, better get a bit of paper the length of a toilet roll to write it all down on. Unless one of the things you are bad at is relationships, in which case, you'll have to work it out for yourself.

I will admit to not doing crowds or football, or football crowds. My vision of Hell would be to be trapped in a place with thousands of other people, all yelling their heads off.

DIY, though some stuff I'm good at, other things, not so good. I can make, adapt, and fix things. I hate painting and decorating. I've developed a loathing for flat pack furniture even though sometimes I have to accept it as a necessary evil.

"Reality" TV, celeb culture. Would rather watch an intelligent drama.

Not really into dancing. I did it when I was young, but as I've got older it's been too much like embarrassing "Dad dancing" or nowadays even "Grandad dancing".

Public speaking, though when I used to work people would tell me I was good at it. Depended on the audience, I suppose.

Team sports, particularly when it's hyped up.

Tolerating people who find it hard to understand that I'm quite happy on my own with my thoughts, thank you, and don't need to be entertained. The problem doesn't seem to be getting others to talk to me, it's getting them to stop!

And I'm sure that. given time, I can come up with more.

Dancing. Hate it with a passion, I’d rather have my balls nailed to a plank with rusty nails than get up on the dance floor.
I only hate it because I have never learned, so feel super self conscious and in the end, just drink and be 'boring'.

I'd love to learn though.
1 Team activities and events.

I like doing things with one or two people, or alone, but set up a team with a boss/leader/captain, and I'm gone.

I play curling and it's a team of 4. We all have our own jobs to do, depending on the shot order, so it's fine, it's not too bad.

2 Small talk. Tell me about the Russian revolution, bee-keeping, nutation, or any one of a million other things and I'm happy. Talk about what Dave said last week down the pub and you'll be talking to yourself.
A little bit is ok when trying to get to know about someone, but it can get a bit much, I agree.
Alternatively, having a full on conversation with someone is ok, but it can also get a bit much at times.

It also depends on who it is talking of course!
Some people I have a lot of time for, but others, please, just shut up and give me peace! 🤣
Tolerating idiocy and/or idiots.
Sillyness (within reason) is ok, but yes, there are some genuine idiots out there, especially when it's a subject you know about.

My problem is that I am too polite, so they fry my brain and I need to run away.

I can also be intolerant of people, but am too polite, so I sometimes wonder if it's just me who has the problem sometimes.
You must be my double @Supersuperleeds, those are the exact same things I am very bad at! Anything more involved than changing a light bulb or plug top is totally beyond me. Ashamed to admit this at 71 years old!
My Dad did everything, so I never had to.
I need to learn things, but... Well... 🤷‍♂️
Anything that requires creativity.
I'm very bad/clumsy at it and b) it really stresses me and can take me hours for a single card.
Is it not just a thing where she'll appreciate the thought and effort?
Yes, it might look like a Dog's dinner, but you still did it?!
Swimming.

I'm so bad at it I've never even tried it, never had the slightest desire to try it and never been able to see the attraction it has for people.
Blubb blubb blubb ⚰️🤣
Another non-swimmer here, despite PE teachers trying to insist I learn, “It might save your life” I simply sulked and refused to make any effort.
Blubb blubb. ⚰️🤣

I started swimming again years ago and loved it, but I was crap.
I'll probably just float on my back and paddle away these days.

@Vapin' Joe, I loved how refreshing getting in the pool was and how clean it made me feel, my skin had a nice shine to it too.
The chlorine was less admirable, but anyway.

Yes, I am the same. The only issue is when they don't know you and are just trying to be friendly/making the effort.

I am rapidly getting to the point where I have started asking people if they want to talk or not.

That said, a trait I have noticed is that I then start talking about why I don't want to talk either, therefore defeating the whole purpose! ☺️🤣

Laying carpets & linoleum (or whatever poncy name it now has)
You can still get Linoleum it's in single colours or Marmoleum which has a marbled effect, very expensive but it has a 30 year guarantee. It is also totally organic being made of China Clay, Linseed Oil and Hessian unlike what most people call 'Lino' which is PVC or Vinyl and is Toxic and not that hard wearing.
As you may guess I worked a lot with Linoleum/Marmoleum in very high end shopfits not only as flooring but also as countertops with normally a hardwood lipping (much nicer to write on with a single sheet of paper as it is soft but quite resiliant) when I did the floor in my bathroom/toilet I used Marmoleum and 15 years later it looks as good as the day it was fitted a bit like the difference between 'Laminte' flooring and 'Engineered Hardwood flooring' they look very similar when first laid but Laminate wears out quickly.

It's the cutting & fitting that I'm hopeless at.. Wood floor & laminate flooring is fine. I've laid many a plank in my time..

Seriously though, I have come to realise that I am not very understanding/tolerant of people and of their feelings.
What I am also crap at though is telling people just to shut up/fcuk off, because I don't want to hurt aforementioned feelings because of my background. So in the end, just fry myself instead.

Likewise with tolerance, inside you kill me a little bit each day, ... So if I have a go at you about something to your face, I've HAD E. N. O. U. G. H!!
