I like vegetarians that stick to their principles!

The ones that still eat dairy/wear leather/eat fish and still chastise us carnivores really bug me!

Is it the vegetarian diet that causes vegetarians to believe that non vegetarians are sick, evil people revelling in the wanton destruction of animals?

You posted above that those who kill without remorse are evil twisted bastards. I'm pretty sure that the average slaughterman gets through his day without feeling much remorse. His job only exists because of lots of meat eaters who cheerfully go along with the slaughter of animals for food.
Without feeling much remorse and no remorse are two different things.

Did it make you feel good?
Neither really.
The fish were good to eat and I enjoyed catching them.
Wasp and mozzies were bothersome irritating biting/stingy things (all other insects are excused)
The mice are eating stuff in my garage including cycle-kit.
Edible animals killed by others are also pleasurable to consume as are products made from their skins.

I'll venture to suggest that a lot of slaughtermen feel no remorse at all. I had a chat with a professional pest controller. He specialises in killing pigeons in city centres for local authorities and public bodies. His highest ever tally was 480 in a day in a dockland area, at the behest of an insurance company which insisted on a reduction in pigeon numbers as a condition of insurance. He thoroughly enjoys his job, and feels no remorse at all.

Slightly off topic and one for the long-timers on here ...who was it that would only by second hand leather products because that way he wasn't responsible for the animals death. Recall that the leather seats in his Porsche 911 fitted that rule as it was 'used'. Thread went on for weeks.

Joe Sacco? Every one of his posts, pretty much, contained some kind of veiled reference to what a staggering amount of money he eared.

So my original post stands.

I drink soy or rice milk and use non dairy spread et al

Changing the subject slightly.....
My daughter has a dairy allergy, so we have to buy alternatives for her, and rather than doubling up our shopping, we tend to just use the same stuff. We have dairy free spread, and I actually prefer the taste of her Oat Milk. But why the bloody hell does it all have to be so damned expensive???
I think more people would use the alternatives if it were a simliar price, but we usually find its at least double!

I agree it is very expensive as are many healthy alternatives to butter. I guess it is economy of scale?

Yeah, could well be that. Good point Sir!
We recently discovered that Tesco value spread is dairy-free. And you get twice the much as Vitalite for the same price. So that was a bit of a result.
