Awful turning circle though. A London bus can turn better than a Picasso.

I'm not bad mouthing them, my Fiancee's parents have one. They're great but a pain to do a 3 (or 10) point turn in.

Plenty of room for a bike in the back incase you break down...

...and you will! I once drove one of these a 100 miles with only fourth gear. The others had all turned to dust. Needed a mew clutch by the time I was done too

Join me in my crusade to improve the image of the much maligned BMW driver :hello:

It costs less to run than my old Astra, tops 50mpg on motorways, has heating that could warm an old cynics heart, and is the epitome of my belief in putting as much metal between yourself and the other loonies as possible.
Going at bargain prices due to the recession. And when in for a service you ALWAYS get a courtesy car without them moaning and whining.

And my existing roof bars fit for the bikes!

That's the sales pitch. Thankyou for listening :thanks:

What about the estate version of the old 204 in my avatar?

Good, old-fashioned Peugeot mechanicals; no gadgets to go wrong; good ride and handling for its era; 0-60, probably.

If you had the TdF bike racks too, all the better.

I had a diesel one as a hire car which I drove round the south of France for a couple of weeks. For a reasonably sized lump it seemed to use virtually no fuel - I was impressed anyway. No street cred though.

The lease is almost up on my very practical Renault Megane II sports tourer, 1.5l turbo diesel, basic, comfortable, fuel economy that is hard to beat for an estate type vehicle. It's been the best vehicle of this type that I've ever had the pleasure of using.
