Despite not being a father I consider myself pretty good at doing dad jobs.

I have just removed, flushed and replaced two radiators that were beginning to sludge - no plumber required in this house thank you :thanks:

So what dad skills have you exhibited recently?*

*You don't need to be male, dad skills exhibited by a woman are perfectly acceptable.

Still can't beat bleeding all the radiators with the radiator bleeding key... from the man drawer.

When's the new carpet being fitted ^_^
None. Grandad skills are less exhausting though, cos you know when the little ankle biters are going home and you can put your feet up with a large scotch

I deflected the accusation that I still hadn't found him a football team........

............for now, that is.

He never mentioned radiators.

Right now as I type Gti junior aged 12 is in the cupboard under the stairs replacing the cover on the burglar alarm and reinstating the fuse in the mains spur while I shout instructions to him not to electrocute himself.

An hour ago I heated up the Friday curry in the top oven of the Aga without burning myself.

Just before that I rang the insurance co. and got a fantastic quote for adding all our bikes to the houshold insurance.

That's enough for one day.

That is proper son training. At the age of 12 my dad had me help him change out an engine and gearbox on a Morris Traveller, something that I recall mainly involved me in a pit holding up the gearbox on my shoulder whilst he tried to locate the drive spline and refit the bolts. That was real dad/son bonding.

Since coming home from work I have hoovered, fed the dog and cats, taken the dog for a walk, been foraging in the supermarket, and posted a message on facebook asking if anyone knows a cheap handyman to carryout some easy joinery work around my house. Time for a beer.

Oddly my buddy called with air in system. He was using the 'man' key with the circulating pump on. He was drawing in air whilst sending it whizzing around the system. Turn the feckin pump off muppet; oh and a beer would be good.

Fitted 2 bar shower pump this week, balanced gravity hot n cold. Mmmmm, perfick shower now!

Cut n chopped around a ton of logs. Repaired the pressure cooker with a new safety valve. Butt n scribed some solid oak worktops for a pal, then fitted in place. Also routed out for sunk in sink (edges/sides exposed, jigsaw no good). That'll do for me this week.
