If we all worried what we looked like we'd never do it or (in most cases) accomplish the things we do.

After a while, you'll actually be thinking you look good in your tight Lycra, you'll be matching colours with the bike, you'll be considering replica pro kit.

At this point you just have to give up all hope and go with it!

I suppose if we care too much about how we look, we wouldn't be cycling at all..
At the end of the day, how good can someone look with a trail of mud running from the waist up to the bum, muddy overshoes, cow-licked hair, red nose, dehydrated cheeks and cracked lips?

Face it people: we look cr*p even in Assos!

You forgot the runny nose!

Lol, this thread is funny. I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't care, I have got such a mish mash of colours most of it from my running days, all sale items of course, who cares if they don't match. :girldance:

Match??
I aim to be a beacon among ninja cyclists, a splash of brightness among the grey clouds, a no close passes warning to drivers.
Match? No, nothing matches!

It's interesting to see from these posts that most CCers are above a certain age and no longer care what they look like. I bet if you asked a load of 16-30 year old cyclists the same question you'd get very different answers!!!

No mate.. You got it all wrong! I DO care very much about how I look (and usually make sure I'm looking smoking hot). I just have the wisdom to know that some times pleasure comes before looks.
Plus, since I can't recall meeting you, you are not in position of knowing the ages of these CC members which you speak of..

I'm not so much 'bella in sella' but do favour a comfortable clean look. Plus I make sure that I always have clean underwear on before going for a bike ride.

I tend to top-up on my sportswear in sales and probably the best stuff ive had has been the more expensive Skins thermal gear with 85% off from CRC, having it match doesn't matter. In fact the baggy shorts I cycle in the warmer 6 months of the year are a garishly bright orange and purple, enough to be a talking point. I still cant see me ever crossing the line into skin tight lycra though

There's a bloke I saw a few times last summer cycling around here in full Livestrong gear, matching black and yellow everything, Livestrong written down the length of his legs and on his top. Maybe you can get a good deal on some of that stuff now.

I was going to defend the young people and how I've never cared too much, but as you've put me in the old man category ill just sulk instead
