What cycling essentials do you always carry with you when out on a ride or commute?

Im just asking because im getting my bits and pieces together and just seeing what else Im missing from my bag

Normal journey for me is 17 mile each way, every day so I carry a rucksack every day and in the 2 side pockets are;

2 spare inner tubes
puncture repair kit
6 rubber gloves
chain link/delink tool
portion of spare chain
SRAM quick links
CO2 inflator and 2 canisters
Allen key multi tool
tyre leavers
100 Ml can of WD40
long flat bladed screw driver
Pocket rocket hand pump
Small bottle of lube
Spare chocolate bar in case of hunger but emergency use only!

over the last 44 months and 26,000 miles I have used them all at least once to get to and from work.

I am also going to get me a folded tyre to take every day as well.

For a 15 mile round trip I carry
a multi tool
chain link tool
spanners
2 x inner tubes (just added some instant patches as well)
Tyre levers
disposable gloves (important no oil on bar tape or best cycling gloves)
pump
drink

I do have the luxury of brother in law living half way along commute so if any severe mechanical problems I have a bail out facility within at most a 20 minute walk.

A Tweezers, packed safely away from the spare tubes. Had a very frustrating ten minutes in the rain trying to remove a thorn from a tyre before I carried a tweezers. Apart from that just the usual multi-tool, spare tubes, levers, quick link, pump, gloves. What you carry, essentials aside, will be determined by what at some point you wished you had carried!

I have all the above plus a director spotif following behind me just in case I need assistance plus a masseur when I get home to make sure my legs are in A1 condition for the next commute to work.

I ride about 20 miles in and 20 out again. On a clear dry day i'll try to carry very little, so as to fit it in my pocket. On a cold wet or dark day i tend to carry more.

Warm day;
Tyre lever x 3
Mini Pump or co2 with 2x cartdriges taped together to stop rattles
Spare tube, maybe two

And

Keys
Wallet
Phone

Cold/wet or dark day;
As above plus
Gillet sleeves,
Fleece
Buff
Overshoes (if not wearing them)
Fleece beenie

Some days i carry laundry but mostly i reserve that for the motorbike commutes.
