I'm looking to purchase a front and rear light but struggling to choose as there's so much choice online.

I don't want to spend anymore than about £40 on both and I would like the lights to be fairly inconspicuous. I don't mind mixing and matching so they don't have to necessarily come as a set.

I have narrowed it down to the following...

Front: Lezyne Hecto Drive - http://www.lezyne.com/product-led-sport-hectofrnt.php#.VDTiH0uFYYU
Rear: Lezyne Zecto Drive - http://www.lezyne.com/product-led-sport-zectorear.php#.VDTiTUuFYYU

Any advice would be appreciated.
TIA

You really can't go wrong with Lezyne products.
They both look really nice lights and would do the job you want them to.

Anyone use Cateye Volt 700? Been looking to get some good lights, I.e for use in the dark on country lanes and they have been recommended to me by my local bike shop. Pretty pricey though at circa £80

Search for 'Cree' on Ebay, huge choice of makers, designs and power and starting at sensible prices for basic models. Some would be at home on a Rally car so ideal for off road night riding!

just be wary of some cree versions
i bought one from tesco last week (my light bounced off and into a canal) so popped in to buy one and picked this up

its bright in a searchlight fashion but and it is quite a considerable but

it doesnt stay in the bracket, slightest bump vibration or even braking sees it coming off. oh the screw lockdown is tripe as well
i rode 300 yards walked back to buy some elastic bands to do this

I don't favour those small ones myself but for £9 you would have got two of them, more secure brackets and a rear LED too. I suspect the quality isn't very good but you can't complain for this price.

I know you needed yours in a hurry...that's some amount of bands to have to put on and take off!. How about cutting a cross section of an old mtb inner tube to make a single and secure band?

willco do the same light and bracket iv got one! i didnt rate the bracket so cut a old 23 tube over the light to make it a snug fit mite protect it if it was to fall off.

Well I took the plunge and bought myself some "proper" lights today. I have been missing my evening rides too much since the darker evenings have arrived and so I have vowed to stop being such a Woose and start doing evening rides in the dark. It's mainly only having "be seen" lights before that has put me off

So I spent rather too much money on some Cateye Volt 700 El and Rapid x TI-700 lights. 800 lumen to the front and 25 lumen to the rear. Me likes them and they are rechargeable as well. Currently charging them and looking forward to fitting and trying them out this week hopefully!!

The rear light brightness is good (I use two of these for the rear) but I'm upgrading due to needing longer battery life, +2hrs (Flashing)

The fronts are not so good, I thought they would be a little brighter and the battery life sucks. Might be worth paying a little extra for a brighter light and better battery.

Just my opinion.

Personally love the "skully" lights, but just as a back up!!
