As you know my LBS is so great that I thought I'd make them a cake to show my appreciation for all their help and advice.

I made a coffee and walnut cake which they loved but then discovered one of the guys has a nut allergy, so I said I'd do him a cake that doesn't have nuts and he requested a victoria sponge, the other guys were then requesting a chocolate cake!!! So I did both!! (Had to do the chocolate cake twice as I dropped the first one!)

I took the victoria sponge in Sunday for Alan (he has the nut allergy) and the chocolate one in yesterday, and they love my cakes so much that Paul (shop owner) has offered to pay for the ingredients if I keep them supplied with cake!!

Oh dear what have I done??!!:laugh:

Unfortunately there isn't enough room to open a cafe  It is something I'd like to do is open a cycle cafe, we don't have one here

Have a look at the website for Green Jersey Bikes in Clitheroe - they manage to serve decent coffee and a cake and sell bikes and repairs. I'm sure you could find a way of doing it.

*cough* Opposite my office is a company that makes cake bases in bulk. They bake a massive slice and then cut it up into round and square shapes, which they supply to local bakers. That's got to be a cheaper and less stressful way of supplying local cafes, as long as the quality is good enough. Just sayin' like.
