we have been turning a flower border into what will be our soft fruit and veg strip , used loads of our own compost , positioned the apple and 2 blueberry bushes ready started sowing some seedsand potatos ready to go , so come summer we can have some fresh home grown veg .

We planted some tulips yesterday, but they're going to be kept inside for a few more weeks until the temperature stays above freezing!

Three rows of seed potatoes, and some earlies in containers for the playgroup up the road. Peas and onions are coming up nicely, I mulched the raspberry canes with the contents of the home compost bin, sowed some mustard and lamb's lettuce, and put in a couple of highly scented roses. Spring is here - hurrah!

Haven't got (bulb) onions and shallots in yet, but they'll go in soon.

Jerusalem artichokes are in. First sowings of peas and broad beans looking happy enough. Garlic over-wintered and doing fine.

Sowed onion seeds, garlic chives, welsh onions, cauliflowers, cabbages and collared greens in trays.

Ground prep nearly done; one bed left to do.

Still harvesting carrots, leeks, parsnips, Jerusalem artichokes, leaf beet, cabbage, kale, and started on Spring salads now (chickweed, chives, three cornered leek, crow garlic, alexanders, sorrel, etc.). Still eating stored garlic, pumpkins, squashes, potatoes and turnips. Soft fruit, beans and peas still in freezer.

Ample stocks of dried shrooms still.

Nearly everything running late this year. Much later Spring than normal.

Not planted anything yet, been down to my allotment today and dug most of it over in preparation for planting. Got some Charlotte seed potatoes, onions and shallots to go in soon. Still got loads left from last year. Got some tomatoes, cucumber and red pepper seeds sown in the greenhouse, no sign of those yet.

Yet to plant anything out although over wintered Broad Beans have big gaps where the weather didn't help so have resown into the gaps. Indoors I have Toms (4 varieties), Aubergine and Sweet Peppers sown as well as onion seeds. Been down the nursery today and bought a load of seeds and sets for sowing soon. Next chance I get some peas will go in.

Still digging up carrotts and parsnips. Celeriac still to eat (dug the last on Saturday). Some leeks still to harvest and leaf beat too. Overwintered onions are doing well (I had the foresight to cloche them ;)). I'm still waiting for the purple sprouting to sprout but the pigeons have taken more of a toll this winter.

At least some gardening is now possible

Two weeks ago I put in my strawberry's, still got loads of that Yorkshire Fog grass to dig out. Hopefully if I get my essays done I can spend the all day Thursday doing stuff on the allotment.

That's a seriously impressive list Cab.

Is it your garden or an allotment?

You seem to have your veg sussed well and truly still having peas in the freezer. I have a tiny garden and no allotment but don't shop at supermarkets on principle. I have a lovely local veg farm scheme - but even for them March is tricky. Nothing is really yet in season.

Allotment, with a little garden as a nursery and for herbs and a few greens and bits and bobs. Supplemented with wild foraged stuff too.

Its a bit of an obsession.

Indoors: Tomatoes (3 varieties) have sprouted; lettuce (2 varieties sprouted); Peppers (jalapenos, bell have sprouted, habaneros haven't sprouted, yet) I'm told that spinach doesn't transplant well, but I've started some indoors, this year, anyway...they've sprouted. The indoor lettuce and spinach are for "fill in" plants to replace those that don't sprout outdoors.

Outdoors: first planting of onions have sprouted, and seem to be doing fine. I'll probably start a few more this weekend. Lettuce, spinach, peas, and carrots haven't sprouted, yet.

Hope this warm weather stays!

Sounds great. Can't beat fresh veg.

There's nothing I hate more than the prewashed, homogenous, veg found in all UK supermarkets. There are vegetables that people have never heard of because they don't look pretty on supermarket shelves.

(I'm thinking of celeriac - but as I haven't been near a supermarket in years maybe they're now selling unpackaged, seasonal veg which don't have to conform to a certain size and shape etc although I'm not holding my breath)

We've got quite a bit going on - decided the seed potatoes will go in 'bags' this year. Got the usual though.......not exactly sure as the missus and kids do the seeds. Lost some due to the greenhouse being too cold at night, so my missus went out and got a paraffin heater (does the job well).....

Seedlings are coming on well now.

Gave the greenhouse a big clean out some weeks back, and repaired the 'cold frame' as the cats had cracked the plastic roofing, by jumping off the garage roof onto it....little buggers............

Veg plot was turned over a few weeks back. Got garlic and onions that will need picking soon.
