Some days we get 5 or more nuisance calls. Many are "withheld" or "number unobtainable" ........they show up so we just don't answer. but............................THEY ARE BLOODY ANNOYING:crazy:.
Just tonight I got 2 within a minute.
So........time for a call blocker.
The CPR one @ £50 looks decent.
So any suggestions.
any warnings
any good/bad/funny stories.

Call blocker? Where's the fun in that! If you're getting lots of nuisance calls, you're obviously on various lists.

I used to get a few calls from "Microsoft Technical Support" or similar, ringing about my PC problem. After stringing them along a bit, I'd say the person they asked for was dead/moved away 20 years ago, or say I haven't got a computer. They don't seem to ring up any more. I miss those little chats.........

We have this phone.Blocks any calls you want, from withheld to international numbers.Or you can send calls to a screening service which asks the caller to leave a message to identify themselves.Unlike it's predecessor you can block thousands of numbers not just 10.
Be aware though you do need caller ID activated for it to work.

"Hello, I like you, will you be my friend, will you hold on, I'll get my other friend, he likes you too, will you be his friend?"
"Hello, hello".

I had my first one of these the other day. He had an Indian accent, and was obviously in a big room full of other people on the phone, from what I could hear. I told him I work for Microsoft, and not to be stupid.

We have this phone also and it's very handy. We have pretty much no fake callers now and if one gets through, it's a simple job of blocking them

I've been using the CPR call blocker for 3 years now. Got a 'reconditioned' one from the manufacturer on Amazon, so only cost £30 - and it's been the best £30 I've ever spent! From up to 8 spam calls a day at all hours to none.

The odd call still gets through every now & again, but I can instantly block the new number.

We have very similar BT model - we have it set to ring only for VIP's (friends/family) and everything else goes silently to voicemail. The VIP's obviously also go to voicemail if we are not in.

Since we got it a year ago our nuisance calls have gone from maybe half a dozen a day to once in a blue moon.

Now that does look good..........and for a pair it is not much different in cost to a CPR call blocker.
Any down sides/negatives ???
