Well I suppose we could leave it to you to deal with, if we had any faith in that.
And the reality if that is that its too late to call the dibble once you're excreting teeth. They they ain't going to undo the pain or humiliation.

I'm a big muscly sod and if I wanted to throw my weight around with this sort of thing I reckon I'd be pretty good at it, but i strive to do the oppisite. Fact is I think anyone who does something unnecessary and avoidable and gets into a confrontation because of it, no matter how righteous they may think they are, is an utter fool.

At best you gain nothing at all. At worst you could lose your life. And in between there's a wide spectrum of unpleasantness. So why waste time and effort in doing it?

Trust me when I say my grasp of the principles of personal safety is better than your grasp of physics.

I can't help noticing on these threads dealing with confrontation that there is a significant number of posts in which the author feels the need to state that he is tall, powerful, muscly, can handle himself etc... (I've always giggled at that last one).

It is always male posters and they seem attracted to this type of thread, where near-confrontation is dissected and mulled over.

Am I the only member of CycleChat who is grey, getting older and is no longer as strong or quick as he was, which in fact he wasn't... even then?

Can we have a special topic heading for male posters who feel the need to say how strong they are, what the diameter of their bicep is, what they'd do to a naughty driver or (best of all) how they could but wouldn't because they combine the muscle of Van Damme with the serenity of a Bubbhist monk.

I'm just saying...

(I put the smiley face in so nobody feels the need to tell me what their immense strength and martial skill would enable them to do to me if they weren't reformed).

Once again, do remind me what it is you feel I don't understand.

As far as I can tell from the responses I receive, the things I fail to understand or choose not to understand are the opinions of others where they are at variance with my own views.

Also, I used not to understand teenage daughters at all, but my 19-year-old now concedes that I do, but only up to a point.

The X5 is like a Landrover on steroids. Guess some people can go insane with power...

The X5 is like a 5 series Beemer with a suspension lift, bulkier body and an AWD system. That doesn't make it anything like a Landrover, and it certainly isn't a capable 4x4 in a utility role.

Before the X5's came along, what sort of car do you think these people were driving ? - a good guess IMO would be probably a mondeo, or a vectra.
