Baby On Board, the Arabic Eye symbol, there are all kinds of jujus that people all over the world stick in their cars to keep them from harm. Lots of people have this one:

Every morning i pass a Jaguar XJ6 in Dorridge with a small kid in the back wearing his school blazer and tie, looks like a mini prime minister on his way to PM's questions.
Makes you wonder when these kids get to learn about the outdoor world.

I thought the idea was so that the emergency services may look for a child in the back of a car in an accident. If this was the case people should remove them when their little "princess" isn't onboard.

Did she have the obligatory mobile clamped to the ear at the same time?

I did have one briefly that said "Baby, I'm bored."

Shortly after that I sold my car and later took up cycling. No only do I no longer have anywhere to stick the sign (no giggling at the back there) it's no longer true.

Back in the good old days , I followed a wierdly-driven wreck through Swiss Cottage. There were some strange zebra stripes on the paintwork, but the bumper sticker was good....

"Jah is my Driver"

In the back window was a yellow triangle with the message...

"WARNING, I slow down for hallucinations "

That shows class...

Favourite stickers? "If you can read this I've lost my caravan", Landrover, Birch services c 2002

Mine is '..all the kisses I've snatched, and vice versa...'

I would love to write on the back window of these sticker bearing cars "SO WHAT"! in lipstick! Mr Campfire concurs with (can't remember whose) opinion that they're showing off about their success in reproduction!
There's one in our close that says "small person on board" - what, are they only 4'10"?

It's the same as "I slow down for horses" except that the social implications are a little different.

"I'm horsey therefore one of THE country set so back off, prole!"

I scibbled in the dirt on the car beneith a "little princess on board" sticker "so I can drive like a C***"

There used to be a cycnical interpretation of these but I can't find it...

THings like:

I slow down for horses - but nothing smaller

The "Fish" - Prepare to meet your maker

However I do love the fact that "allegedly" Police in the States use bumper stickers to identify vehicles for stop and search!

Apparently...

SPRINGFIELD, IL—With the state legislature's passage of a bill last week allowing police officers to cite Led Zeppelin bumper stickers as probable cause for a vehicular search, Illinois became the 13th state to recognize classic-rock-related automobile decorations as grounds for waiver of a warrant.

"We've known for years that there was a direct correlation between the presence of a Led Zeppelin bumper sticker and the likelihood of that vehicle containing a controlled substance like marijuana," said DeKalb County Sheriff Ronald Bauer. "However, it wasn't until last Thursday that it was within our power to act on this knowledge to make a drug-possession arrest."

Illinois' action comes on the heels of the recent Supreme Court decision that the Fourth Amendment guarantee against unreasonable search and seizure does not require police to obtain a warrant if there is sufficient cause to believe the vehicle contains contraband.

Following the top court's ruling, a number of states, including Utah, North Carolina and Wisconsin, moved to specifically name Led Zeppelin bumper stickers as a factor in determining whether to conduct searches.

The decision, says Bauer, is supported by extensive data. Illinois state records show that in 1998, there were 362 cases in which a traffic-violation-related search of a Led Zeppelin-logo-adorned vehicle was found to contain illegal drugs or such drug paraphernalia as rolling papers, plastic baggies and metal pipes bearing a row of four cryptic symbols.

They could all be replaced with a "We can breed, Aren't we f*cking clever" stickers.

It's the "Little Princess On Board" ones that make my blood boil. Oh great, you have delusions that your brat is more imortant than everything else, so I'll choose a different car to drive into the back of.
