Turn your pop-up blocker on/get an extension, assuming you've got a decent browser.

£3.99 a month gets you the Eurosport App on your internet device so you get the Tour, Giro, Vuelta and all the classics plus loads of other sports.

I'm very wary of downloading freebie sites as they often come with viruses and rogue background programmes that strangle the life out of your PC. It's well worth splashing out a quid to do it properly.

Eurosport Player lets you watch a choice of 2 streams. If the coverage is shown a bit earlier than you want to watch it, never fear - you can wind back upto 3 hours using the scrollbar at the bottom of the Player. You can also pause playback. Be warned though - if you get more than 3 hours behind, you will not be able to restart from where you left off.

You have to be careful not to accidentally create your own spoiler when winding back a stream! To avoid that, I mute the sound and cover the window with my hand and just watch the time that the scrollbar indicates before releasing it and clicking play.

You should still get ITV4 online just not through virgin media player , go straight to ITV player .
