Hi all

First thread on this site as newly registered, so starting with a general question. I took the oath to ride to work every day a year ago , started with a 16mile round commute and currently an eight mile. The eight mile meets with many cars driven by many different people. Most are very good and wait however a few enjoy waiting until I am just 20 yards from them before pulling out in front of me.

This has happened a couple of time and have shouted Oii, t*t and w*nker. Having a small family probably swearing is the wrong thing, but the quickest that comes to mind. However when swearing and seeing young kids in the car get a sense of guilt. What do the rest of tend to shout to let off steam.

Oii works for me when its really close - I haven't the time to think of anything wittier. Don't mind me is often used when I'm feeling as if they were just taking the piss. This morning's idiot was pulling out of a side road as I approached - I'd been looking at him as I approached and he hadn't looked right once so I was already breaking when he did a final glance my direction - he immediately apologized so I didn't say anything. The occasional feck off slips out too.

Used to be any swear word in the spur of the moment but now it's a blast of the car horn i have fitted on my bike.

over the years I've slowly got myself down to a hard/weary stare sometime with a hand of 'why?'

Nothing, there's no point. Gets me wound up and doesn't acheive anything, drivers think they are perfect, and they're not going to listen to a pauper on a bicycle are they ?
