When in London you MUST try the delicious Lebanese food at Maroush Express at 68 Edgeware Road. It's about 10 minutes up from the Marble Arch Odeon on the same side, you can't miss the red awning on the corner of Upper Berkeley Street. For us Maroush has become a place of pilgrimage, no visit is the same without the delicious mezze, fresh salads and grilled halloumi and the sizzling mixed grills. Order a mixed mezze but don't eat it all because you won't have room for the mouth-watering mixed grill when it arrives steaming under a layer of fresh Lebanese bread.

 Seriously though, there are millions of free things to do in London. You have to eat of course (can be pricey), and get around (check out the TFL website for the cheapest options such as travelcards) but you can see so much without spending anything on entrance fees.

I'm going to have to contradict MissTillyFlop. Tower bridge is great, you go inside and get to walk across the top, great for small ones to look down on the roadway, particularly if you are lucky enough to be there when it opens.

You'll need to take out a mortgage to go on the London Eye, you can get a ride on the almost equally impressive London Airline which goes over the Thames at Victoria dock and its only £3.80! I have never understood why people pay to see a lot of waxworks but chacun a son gout I guess. A meal in Chinatown is a good idea but go in the afternoon and have Dim Sum. A entirely different type of Chinese and you don't order anything, just pick what you like from the trolleys. The Cabinet War Rooms would also be great.
