I had the lawn returfed in May.
The old lawn was removed with a turf cutter and new top soil added.
I now have this weed in a number of places, never seen it before so it must be from the turf or soil.
But what is it? And can it be removed?

Manual plucking (Inc roots) is your best option IMO. You may have to be quite persistent initially but will soon get in top of it, unless you have been sold duff turf that is riddled with it!
My experience is that the weeding is best/easiest before the grass is cut so you can see the weed leaves. Often hidden after the heads are cut off.

it can be removed, but you may need to take the root out too.......the best way and you need to be careful doing this, is to get a small craft paint brush, dip into glysophate and paint it onto the leaves and then it will kill it down to the root. Just need to be careful not to get any glyso on the grass itself

I remove weeds like that with an old kitchen knife. If there's a lot of anything I check what it is and how to control it using Google/Duckduckgo.
