Nothing, at least as far as everyday clothing is concerned.

I would however be locked in a dark padded cell if I lost/had stolen some of my cycling gear as I have spent a forrune on being the best dressed/worst dressed/most pimped out - carp cyclist on the road.

Gaerne cycling shoes, the best fitting, highest quality shoes I have ever used.

Some rare/hard/almost impossible to find replica race jerseys.

Some Rapha items & many Castelli & Sportful pieces too ..

you find the things that fit & feel great I suppose & don't want anything else.

I get around that by having eight of them :okay:

I had a particlarly fine pair of Loake country-weight brogues; the 3rd such pair I'd owned - finally ready for the bin after something like 6 re-soles . Loake don't make that model anymore and though they make other perfectly OK brogues I really liked that pattern. Harrhumph!

Have to make do with rather more expensive Crockett and Jones (even when there's a deal on) now, and though they're genuinely higher quality I still preferred my old Loakes.
Loakes rock.

Indeed, I reckon Loakes top end leather lined northampton shoes for maybe £200 are the best value shoes available. Some of their cheaper ones are not made in the uk so you need to read the label. Crocketts are nicer but they ain't twice as good
I thought about a pair of Burford rubber soled boots for the winter here. Leather soled shoes don't last too well on the mean streets of Stockholm December to March. I went Clarks for the first time in years one the basis they did a pair, albeit made in Vietnam, that had a chunkier sole and at the end of the winter they will be ruined. They were 60% off in the sale whereas they didn't have the Loakes in my size. Downside of the Clarks is they have a cleated sole and every evening on returning to my hotel I have to de-stone them.

I have two T-shirts that are too threadbare to wear, but I don't want to get rid of. One is a Jack Wolfskin pawprint one I bought when I was in sixth-form and the other is a Band With Rocks In tour shirt I got as a freebie from Woolworths with the Discworld Soul Music adaptation on VHS (!).

You were looking at Loake Burford brogue-boots, then bought some Clarks made in Vietnam ! What were you thinking?

No favourite item, but my least favourite item is my cheapo black fleece which I wear around the house.

Ruddy thing always looks like I've slept in it, even after it has just been washed.

On the other hand, my cheapo blue fleece which I use for cycling is a fish of a very different flavour, verging, as it does, on the stylish.

My Asender windproof winter cycling jacket. It has a Windtex layer on the front and part of the sleeves and the rest is made of jersey. It's old fashioned but it does the job perfectly. If I ever lost it I would be really upset since I suspect it isn't made anymore.

My Mountain Equipment Ultrafleece Salopettes aged 18 years.

I've worn these on several hundred days in the mountains and they are still going strong.

They're more mid-grey than their original black now after many, many washes.

No longer manufactured but not a problem, unless they get badly damaged, as they'll probably outlast me at this rate.

When ever I've bought a black fleece..... I've never felt it looked as smart-casual as a blue one.... don't know why... and I did lose a Berghaus (blue) fleece once....to say I was annoyed would be an understatement....
