It just means there is no rear suspension ?
It has front suspension but not rear suspension. Hence, a hard tail.

No, a freewheel allows you to pedal backwards as it only allows rotation in one direction.
Hard tail only has to do with the suspension (shock absorbers) on the front of the bike.
