I recently purchased a winter weight long sleeved cycling jersey.
I would like to know what I am meant to wear underneath it when the Weather gets cold. I have tried a T-Shirt and a cotton shirt but these just seem to cause excessive perspiration.
I appreciate that it is not quite cold enough for this some days, I am just asking in advance of the inclement Weather.

A proper base layer - merino is supposedly " the best " but I've used Helly Hansen Lifa for years and found it ideal.
Anything cotton is a no-no, it doesnt cause perspiration, it just helps to retain it, whereas pukka base layers help to transmit away from the skin - so called "wicking".

Merino!

Planet X have good deals on.

There's all sorts of base layers out there, but TBH once you've tried merino you won't look back.
