Last night whilst shopping I saw a deep fat fryer alongside a professional deep fat fryer.

Then a hair dryer next to a professional hair dryer.

What's the difference, and does anyone seriously fall for that nonsense?

Professional gear should be capable of higher/longer usage than non-prof...

What nonsense? That pricier stuff is usually better than the cheap stuff?

At an old workplace, the toilets were kitted out with Kimberley Clark Professional products. There was much speculation over the differences between a standard (amateur) bog roll dispenser and a professional one.

When my garage was broken into the Bosch Professional power tools (sander, circ saw, planer, jig saw, grinder, drills) supplied by the insurance company were far superior to the B&D and Wickes stuff they took.

I was tempted to leave a note on the door thanking the thieves.
