All the mitts I've used or seen that have padding tend to locate it on the palm or just below where your fingers starts. But with me, I've got double jointed thumbs and also dislocated one of them, consquently got a weak spot where the thumbs join the palms. As I cycle on a road bike it's the side of the base of the thumb that takes a lot more of the pressure than the palm, so a) why don't more mitts protect this area by padding out, and b) are there any such mitts?

Thanks

I bought two pairs of mitts from on-one,ulner mitts-£4.99 described fo road riding and trojan mitts-£7.99 described for offroad riding.Very impressed with the quality and price, both have thumb padding, the trojan having a more substantial gel pad.
