What next on Netflix??

Nobody has mentioned Black Mirror i don't think, whilst not to everyones tastes, it's only 3 episodes per season, but one of those episodes is possibly the best hour of tv i've ever seen, bar probably the final episode of Breaking Bad, and a few of the stand out episodes of Game of Thrones and the Sopranos.

I take it you are talking about the pig episode?

I've watched the big titles on Netflix such as Breaking Bad, House of Cards and Homeland. Also a few films such as Filth and Reservoir Dogs. The most recent one I watched was Marco Polo, which was well rated but it didn't do that much for me. I use a profile on my daughter's Netflix account, but she has recently gone abroad volunteering for a few months and suspended her direct debit, so rather than start paying it myself while she is away and end up paying it forever thereafter, I am not using it until she returns. Instead I have taken a free trial of Amazon Prime where they have some good TV but there doesn't seem to be as much choice as Netflix. I'll probably keep Prime as the other features such as unlimited photo storage appeal to me.

There is some great TV to be watched via the web these days, but nowhere seems to have the best of the lot, i.e. The Wire and The Sopranos, which I have on DVD and are IMO unrivaled.

If you run out of stuff on UK Netflix you can always use a service like Unlocator and check out the US library

Yes, I can see that. The question I'm currently unable to answer is whether it's a teen show with adults or an adult show with teens.

The Hunner, as it came to be known in Casa RM, is a bit daft at the beginning when it's a game of Spot the Stereotype, and it's very much a teen show. It gets better towards the end of the series as it becomes more adult, and the second is really good. I'd stick with it.

It always made me laugh when they had the establishing shot of the space-ship when they switched settings, juuuust in case you thought the metal corridors and computer equipment were somewhere on earth.

Just watching Black Sails on Prime..... still undecided, three episodes in.
I didn't mind it - it's very soapy, and I can't imagine rewatching it though.

HBO have their own streaming app (HBO Go), and what I suspect is an exclusive deal with Sky, so don't hold your breath, sadly.

Unless its changed since I last looked you cant get HBO Go in the Uk yet, probably because of their exclusive deals to Sky.

There are ways around that of course or you could buy it on Amazon and stream from there

No, though that was pretty good, it's one of the later ones. Don't want to say too much, in case someone does take the plunge.

I've just started watching The 100. Three episodes in and I'm yet to decide if it's a brilliant study of how people work - or a load of tosh.

It definitely becomes more adult in approach, quite dark as well.

This is a good place to have a look for new series, though a lot of anime fans have obviously been voting, as there's been a few significant changes to this list since the last time i loooked http://www.imdb.com/search/title?num_votes=5000,&sort=user_rating,desc&start=51&title_type=tv_series - and some can be immediately discounted - such as Mr Robot - which is only upto epidose 2 so couldn't possibly be up there yet.

I would say Fargo, with Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman is one of my favourites of the last couple of years. Anyone who liked the film, would enjoy it.

Whilst it does get darker as previously mentioned... It's a teen show for me, but I hate starting to watch something and not finishing it... So I'm in for the long haul

Any updates?

I've just finished watching Narcos which was brilliant. Currently watching Jesica Jones which is a bit slow.

Agree about Narcos - first class and can't wait for Series 2, started Jessica Jones but stopped so my wife can catch up, not sure it's my cup of tea but will try watching it with wifey when she finishes her immense Youview box recorded list.

I watched Spartacus Blood and Sand which was very violent but very good.
