Well it seems at least some of these suggestions are within our control, what's stopping you/us? We already socialise with our neighbours reasonably frequently despite the age gap and we're all the better for it I reckon.

Ban the Daily Mail? How about one step at a time, starting with stopping inserting hyperlinks to Daily Mail online stories? I already have a firewall rule that stops me inadvertently going there.

And finally I'll add a rule myself, stop treating every discussion on here as an opportunity to either win or lose It's discussion, not warfare

Must be honest I'd expected more 'feel good' ideas rather than 'What one thing would you get rid of to make your world a nicer place!", but not to worry!

But then, there is the knotty problem of certain of development control planning officers... as you were!
