That's a US plug.

You can get a single adapter that will work with US/Europe/Australian, or just a US one.

Edit: or charge it in the bathroom, using the shaver socket. Forgot that option.

A Masterplug Visitor to UK Travel Adaptor should work. They are £2.99 at Argos, and the stock number is 982/7590. Your charger accepts 230 volts 50 Hz. Some American electrical goods won't like 230 volts being poked into them so just check the voltage/frequency rating of other things you might plug into the adaptor.

the rating plate says 100 to 240 Volts and 50/60 Hertz so no probs in that respect

Avoid ones that look like below. They are unfused, low quality, dangerous rubbish with nice attractive large, ungated, apertures for little people to explore.

Most wall warts are unfused and most adaptors are ungated.

Isn't it strange how people think they have to put a safety covers into sockets when they already have shutters to protect them
Totally agree on safety covers. The UK has one of, if not the, safest sockets in the world.

The point of the fuse in the plug is to protect the cable to the device and the device in question should be fitted with appropriate fuses to protect itself. These unfused adapters rely on a fuse / breaker in the distribution box, usually 30A for a ring main, which exceeds the current carrying capacity of most devices. Adding inferior adapters brings us down to the types of sockets we see in some third world countries.

I am always amazed that they allow such items to be sold in Europe. I work for the NHS and a number of companies loaning devices to be used in clinical trials supply unfused, ungated, adapters for their units. I always quote the MHRA stance on such items and the Trusts (i.e my plus backing by my head of department) complete ban on such in the hospital.

I'd absolutely agree that the unfused adaptor is a problem, but so is the unfused wallwart, the quality of which is variable.

Half decent wallwarts and desktop PSUs have over-current shutdown built in. Less reliable than a fuse, but a lot better than nothing. Fires from battery charging are usually caused by dodgy batteries, not the charger.
