What price is it now?

I've discovered a new game to make those cold dark winter nights fly by!

I've decided to buy a telly and after much research I picked one that seemed O.K. So the best price was on Amazon and being sensible I thought I'd wait until payday before pressing buy. So on Sunday I popped it in my basket and then had a brainwave, if I waited until Today I could actually take out a free trail on Prime, then have it delivered Thursday when my wife would be in to take delivery.

It was then I noticed Amazon playing silly buggers, by Monday Morning the price had soared by over a hundred Euros, then a few hours later it decreased by 40 Euros. Over the next days the price kept going up and down like crazy and now I cant resist checking every few hours. I'm morbidly obsessed by the wildly fluctuating price but also riddled with angst over when to pull the trigger and buy it! It's currently sat at the lowest I've seen it, but will it go lower?

I clicked on a bike I was interested in on the CRC website , price £1199 , down from £1500 , nice wee saving , as I looked at the spec and googled reviews the price jumped down to £950 , it arrived yesterday

Everyday's a school day, I was never aware of the constant changing prices until now. I know I should just take the plunge, but what if it does go cheaper? Even if I buy it now I'll never be able to resist checking again and then kick myself for not holding my nerve for longer.

Most things like tv's will go down in price eventually it seems, if we all waited for the moment when they hit the bottom then not a lot would ever be sold.

My first microwave was £300 in 1981, my last one £50 in 2015

An idiot friend of mine overdid it at the etape a few years back and had to spend the night in hospital, which meant all of us had to buy new flights. Since he was in hospital, I agreed to buy his for him. Which I did, at an internet cafe. Then I bought mine. Which ended up being £11 more. Grrrr!

O.K. I'm really not one for coveting material goods or understanding anything about retail, but this is fascinating. I understood the basic concept that a retailer could hold goods at a higher price for a short while and then price them lower for the rest of the time and entice you with the old 'it's on sale' chestnut, but this has only been at max price for a couple of weeks. The rest of the time it's been steadily fluctuating around the 550 - 600 Euro mark. So I should stop prevaricating and just go for it.

Damn - I just checked the price of the DOOFER that I bought a couple of weeks ago for £14.99 and they are now going for a much more reasonable £8.00!
