Persons I see fairly regularly who are happy to be rude to/ignore me suddenly becoming best buddies at Christmas. I loathe it and will not be part of it. They can stuff their pseudo-bonhommie where the sun is absent.

I hate having to write Christmas cards every year. These days, I normally only write them to the most important people, so if you get a card from me, you are special!

So...maybe there should be a carol singing competition....called The X-Factor?

We had to have the X-Mas Factor at work. Each department had to do something Christmassy and then hope to get voted out. Unfortunately my department managed to get second place despite not rehersing anything.

I loved Christmas until my Mum died on the 29th in 2004. So, I just about get over the fact on Xmas Day that my m-i-l is still alive (kidding!), when the 29th hits. Peeps always seem to want to make it to the 25th before popping their clogs, but I hate mid-winter and would much rather 'go' in the middle of the year.

The kids really make Christ Mass for me, but New Year's isn't the same any more for obvious reasons.

Christmas ruins christmas for me. If this Jesus bloke hadn't been born on christmas day, would anyone have heard of him?

Work.
Joined the ship a week ago and will be here till mid January. It will all be over and forgotten by the time I get home and despite the efforts of family, opening presents and trying not to appear an ungrateful git for them is challenging by that time. Opening them in the middle of December doesn't seem right either.
They could leave any gift buying for the sales and I wouldn't be any wiser.
'dry' ship as well so no booze

On the plus side, no queues in supermarkets and no carol singers banging on the door.
