Tim Burton's remake of Planet of the Apes.

And yet it’s done so much for human/ape relations!

I tried to move on, but you're all like a dog with a bone, you can't even agree amongst yourselves what it is.
As I said earlier, it's a very varied form, ranging from crowd pleasing, poppy stuff to stuttering, glitchy experimentation, from life affirming joy to fiery, vicious anger, via all points in between. It is, it occurs to me in this discussion, the proverbial elephant as described by blind men.

Another one occurred to me just now - Reservoir Dogs. Whilst the film itself isn't that bad (compared to the rest of Tarantino's largely insufferable ouevre) the expunging of RD from our cultural history might prevent baggy, morally incoherent nonsense like Inglorious Basterds and The Hateful Eight being inflicted on the cinema going public.

I would, it must be said, lament the loss of Jackie Brown.

I found it disappointing on a rewatch, to be honest. Better than most of what follows, but Jackie Brown is the only one I find myself going back to, personally.
I like how it starts at the end,
