Being able to run five miles swim 20 lengths and run five miles back again. Why oh why did I discover booze, fags and women when I left school and lose all that fitness? Answers on a postcard please.

I miss rock climbing. I broke my wrist 2 years ago and its healed badly & I have lost most of my movement and strength in it. I miss being able to open a tin of beans/peas etc I am such an old crock now.

I use to be much more flexible too, I couldn't do a forward roll nowadays, even if you paid me.

20 year gap between 'boom, out go the lights' and 'from behind the line please ten, peep'. But you made me laugh. and I did coach a bit in the mean time.... and I'm flattered that since giving up reffing I've been contacted twice to see if I'd do it again (but they are desperate)

Crosswords, cryptic ones especially.
You do need to 'get into' them, you need to take time to tune the brain, but they're easy(ish) when you do them regularly.
But age is a terrible thing, the grey matter starts to slip, i look at crosswords now....
