What sort of tree is this?

Been bugging me for quite some time. I'd guess that it's some non-native species as I've been unable to find it in guidebooks to British trees. Anyhow, CycleChat being full of knowledgeable folk, I'm sure someone here knows.

Camden is notorious for tree-huggers! :smile: Perhaps try the tree people sitting at desks (there may be more) at Camden Council for the definitive?

Thanks for the link, Aperitif. I found an enquiry form, so I've posed the question to the Trees Team at Camden Council. I see this particular tree when I'm cycling from Euston Station to work (I don't see it on the return journey due to the one-way system!)

furball, I've never seen the catkins but that's probably more to do with me not noticing!
 
It's a raywood ash (aka claret ash) according to the response I received from Camden Council today.
Neat - well done to you and the council. Goodness, doesn't look like any ash I've seen.
