The point I was making was that I was bemoaning the decline of the GBoR.
All kinds of wacky records get in there now. I wasn't saying the bike builder was a nutjob.

He is a nut job but nothing wrong with that IMO. I'm just worried about the waste of resources in making that contraption. Hopefully he'll carbon offset by not washing his clothes or body. I've heard that he smells a lot!

i take it that what it needs is someone of sound judgement to say what's worthwhile and what's nonsense.

so that's the highest high jump, in?
who can eat the most pickled eggs in 5 mins, in or out?
the worlds largest pedal powered guitar, in or out?
the most NTL CDs juggled - out?
lowest number of spokes in a bicycle wheel - out?

my point is that it's an impossible task to decide what's whacky and what's proper.
my guess is also that no two people could agree on the dividing line, could they?

i couldn't possibly criticise him on that basis, as i have also wasted resources for fun. for example:

i have drank wine from further than europe
i don't live in a one room home, that's never above 17C
i have more than one bike, more than one pair of shoes and more than one coat

for starters. perhaps we (westerners) are all guilty?
