Given its a Apollo from Halfords I'd feel slightly cheated if the fork wasn't on the wrong way around.

To be fair: you know how vague some instructions are 🤷‍♂️ You could have Googled, looked online, compared against another bike though…..

Thing is it was probably built that way.

Some of the Halfords mechanics are great, most are abominable.

I've seen that mistake out on the road. I guess a novice wouldn't notice the funny handling.

Amateurs. It's clearly a TT-MTB - fork is twisted 180 degrees to reduce aerodynamic drag from the callipers.

Ipswich Halfords?? Then it's not a surprise although it may have been delivered for home assembly of course. Do you think someone ought to contact him and let him know - seems as though he has never ridden it and the sales sticker is still on it !!

I would say that about 50% of that kind of bike on ebay is set up like that. I've also seen more than one set up like that being ridden around here.
