Mostly I work from home. alarm 7.25, up by 7.45, check emails for 5 mins so can look like I am working to my colleagues! Brekkie till 0830, pull on either cycling or running kit (depending on plans for lunch break). Have shower etc after lunch.

Wish I did have a cycle commute. When not at home I clock up miles in the car. I love days when the car does zero miles!

On days when I do have an early start for work, I much prefer to get up in tons of time and loaf around. But if very early I can be up showered and out in 15 mins

Always get my gear ready the night before. Get up at 6:30 have breakfast (weatabix) and make cup of tea. I then walk the dogs round the block before getting back and drinking the tea.

Leave home at 7:20 5 mile commute takes me 15 minutes. Get changed and make another cup of tea and ready to work at 8:00am

Hi Levad! My shift starts at the same time as yours, and I get up at 5:00 am, and leave about 5:50 am, as my commute is only 5 miles one way. It's also in the dark, most of the year. IMHO, you are NOT leaving too much time. You have to allow for breakdowns. Repairing a tyre in the dark, while holding a torch in your mouth has never been a quick task for me, especially when I cut my finger on the tiny piece of glass that was sticking through the inside of the tyre! lol

Good point that's why I allow an hour.A p*nct*re could take up to 15mins to fix.

On 13 Feb 2009 it is my twentieth year at Waterloo and I have heard rumours we are getting showers. At last.

I have always been a bit of an early bird, a lie in for me at the weekends is 9am at the very latest!! But I personally have never got my head round why people set an alarm 30 mins before they have to get up,(even though I know lots of people do) I would rather have another 30 mins undisturbed sleep

I hate rushing about, but if my light alarm thingy wakes me first I have at least 50 minutes before I have to leave.40 at the least if not woken up by it.

Alarm set for 5.30; up, dress, put container of milk in my rucksack and then zip it up / put on reflective cover, give cat her morning antibiotic tablet, drink glass of fresh orange, brush teeth and out the door and on the bike at 6am.

Arrive at work between 6.30 - 6.40 depending on the weather / winds, shower, dress and up at my desk by 7.00 - 7.05.

I never snooze as I find it pointless,so im up straight away.Too dodgy with something going wrong if you snooze. That's just me though.

My hours are all messed up. In the last few months, I've been getting up at:
1-3am, to get to work by 3-5am. Finish around 1-3pm
5-6am, sleeping in the cab, finish 6-7pm
9am or so, at work by lunchtime. Finish 8-11pm
4pm or so, at work by 9pm. Usually finish at 5-6am

I wish they'd just decide when they want me to work.

Getting to work for 7...or earlier - argh......

I used to ride 20 miles each way (when I was in my 20's) - up at 6, out 6.30, at work by 7.30 and at desk before 8..... but getting up at 5 every day....

Heros you lot are.....

I'm usually up and about at 05:15 every day - unlessI can work the snooze on my 'phone...leave for work at various times and the ride time is average 1hr 03m for my 27km. But I prefer early, returning in 'bus lane restriction hours' if possible.

... and the funny thing is, after getting up at 5 all week, at weekends, I still wake up early - generally before 6am. Only at the weekend, we get to have a cup of tea in bed  and watch the news channel until it starts to repeat before having to get up. Bliss!

Alarm set for 5am, leave by 5:30 after a quick change and small breakfast, arrive at work 6.15 after 10 hilly miles, change and a relaxing coffee ready to start work for 6.50am. I have to get my clothes ready the night before as I hate to rush around in the early hours. 5 days a week and I spend most of the weekend catching up with my sleep.

So what is the world before 7am like?

7 am wake up, lie in bed for ten minutes thinking about getting up.
7.10 - get up - wander into kitchen - start organising breakfast - always coffee, and, at this time of year, porage.
7.20ish - eat breakfast - usually reading the more obscure bits of last Saturday's Guardian
7.30ish - decide to have toast
7.35ish - eat toast
7.35ish - become distracted by article in Guardian and read it all
7.45ish - prepare sandwiches, stuff for work (this always seems to take a long time, mainly I can never decide what the weather is like so can't make up my mind what clothes to wear, and if I need to bring in new clothes for work then it is even worse because I have to choose two outfits B))
8 ish - clean teeth, shave, etc.
8.15 - (crikey! does it really take that long to clean my teeth!!!!???) get dressed, get bike ready.
8.30 - go out door
8.31 - come back in because I have forgotten something
8.40 - go out door again and start riding to work
9.15ish - in the office (I am much more organised there than I am at home).
