Plan "C" jump on a train with bike and go somewhere for a few days, anywhere within £150 return train fare (that might get me a day trip to Ardrossan then ).

You can get some good deals if you look hard enough/are willing to travel at odd times or, are to book in advance. I cannot account for the cost of accomodation you choose though.

Plan "D" phone work and do a couple of shifts in the rain, then get away another time.

You could plan something properly, yes.

Save it until September when the masses have gone back to school.

Stay in Devon somewhere in the South Hams area, then you'll be in lovely countryside a few miles from the coast and a few miles from Dartmoor. If you fancy a bit of history you can head to Plymouth to see the Barbican and the Hoe.

You'll also easily be able to do a day trip to Cornwall.

Take your best cycling legs with you as it isn't flat for very long!

Millport....
Eat, drink, drink, drink and drink...
I once spent about 3 years doing that on another exotic Clyde island (Bute) and I don't think my liver could stand it again!

Won't £150 (ish) get you flight from Glasgow?, warmer is always my preference, if not then I'd go for the motorbike trip. :okay:

I love the zero hour contract too.

Largs to gournouch, (spelling) then ferry across to Dunoon and onto the lochs, ride 30 miles around loch Eck, to Inveraray and stay in the beautiful loch fyne hotel (that'll blow your £150). Then ride up and over to Dalmally along the shore of Loch Awe and around to bender loch, crossing the mouth of loch etive and on to fort William (on the new smooth road) via the commando monument to Loch lochy and loch ness.

I enjoyed this route in 2014. Just beautiful.

I know you are local but you can see it for yourself here.
