Before I worked there, there was a lady came to St Nicks, and asked if they'd buy aluminium cans and foil from her, for a charity. They agreed, settling on a price that still let them make some money.

Then she was spotted, ferreting through our boxes left out on the street for collection. So she was selling St Nicks it's own aluminium!

Spend the day writing messages, inviting people to register with CycleChat, and then throw the lot into the sea. Prize for the furthest afield.

Stick them in some bin bags, then drive to a different recycling area/authority, pile them up in a dark lay-by and bingo, it's not your problem anymore.

It seems to work well on the Somerset Levels for everything from piles of tyres to old televisions

I know you're trying to help, but have you any idea how many binbags we'd need for ten tonnes of bottles?

Although... Could we sell them to the Dutch to tip into the sea and build new land on?
