Personally for a twenty miler i would eat anything you like. But if its your first time make sure you eat an hour before you ride.As for nutrition i don't think it matters that much,at least not for me.

Hi Luke

You don't need to eat special food. Stay light, eat at least 2 hours before starting and take with you a couple of bananas and about 1lt of water.

Good luck

Good cycling breakfast - museli or porridge or cereal with a cup of coffee or tea. More than enough for 20 miles.

I prefer museli as whenever I've made porridge, it's like eating glue.

Have brekkie then after an hour or so away you go. Don't stuff yourself though.

Extra helping of pasta the night before and if there's no time between a light breakfast and the ride a double espresso gives a buzz through the postprandial low.
