I'm looking to buy a cycle computer, nothing fancy but one that won't break in a month or two.
I am preferably looking for one that can tell me my speed live and also allow me to see how far I have traveled on that journey.

Could someone please advise me on what sort of price I should be looking at and any other things I should consider? I've noticed online that prices vary from £5 to £250... I preferably want to be spending on the lower end of that spectrum

Thanks again

Any basic cycle computer will indicate your speed and distance travelled, also your average speed and top speed. You should be able to find one for less than £30.00. One decision you will have to make, do you want a wireless or wired computer?
The more expensive models indicate cadence( the speed at which you are turning the pedals), heart rate, altitude, temperature,. etc etc, but a cheaper model should fulfil your requirements.
Take a look at the Cateye website for facilities offered by the different models

Thanks for the replies, I shall probably go for a wired one as I am guessing they are going to be cheaper. No need for heart rate, pedaling speed or temperature, although altitude might be nice.
Shall look online or I shall ride down to the cycle shop, I need new lights for my bike anyway.

I've just had a wired Cateye 5 fitted at Thatto Heath Cycles in St Helens. It was about £11 and £3 - £4 for them to fit it.

Does the job perfectly.
