Next question LOL.

How do people stop getting there workware i.e shirts and trousers creased in there back pack

Chris

I don't. I roll shirt, kecks & socks into a cylinder, stuff them in the rucksac & they always seem fine to me (I do 10 miles min each way). Trousers & shoes stay at work & are sort of recycled over a very long period.

Hi all,

I am still recovering from my first ride to work LOLOL.

Decied to go in my work bottoms but a tshirt and then my waterproof jacket over it. Foldered my shirt and put my shoes in my back pack.

Took around 30min at a slow ride and i had to rest for a few min after the big hill climb as it took it out of me LOL and messed up on all the gears.

Got in work ontime but found that there was no place to lock my bike up in the end so had to lock it to some steel stairs behind the building so fingers cross its ok there. No lockers and no changing rooms at all only the disable toliet to change which was clean as its never used so i used that.

Coming back i did the hill ok but again slow but was down hill to home.

Chris

Cycle into work on Monday with 5 pressed shirts packed into one of these: Eagle Creek Packit Folder 15

As tempting as it is with the approaching seasons, stay away from linen suits*

*Ok, we can't resist them, but they have no place in the office - unless you manage to defy nature and invent a crease-resistant variant (your fortune made) in which case you will never have to work again.

The big hill will get better over time ... did you see any other cyclists at work - they might know if there were better places to lock up your bike - have you a D-lock - you can always leave it at work to save having to carry it each way.

Hi,

2nd run was alot better today. still had a rest at the top of the hill for 5min but going up seem alot better this time and comeing back i got soaked LOL.

I do have a lock but its only this sort http://www.raleigh.co.uk/p_details.aspx?id=3164 that was given to me when i got the bike by wheels to work scheme. I would like another bike lock but unable to afford one at the minute.

I am the only cycylist that works there out the whole company. Everyone drive's a car or motor bikes and them people think am crazy cycyling to work.

It depends where and what you're locking to. Those locks are quite beatable with right tools.

We had that broke at the barrel https://www.cyclechat.net/

A Cheap(ish) solution it to get a length of case-hardened 12mm chain from hardward store (£12/m from B&Q, 1.5m is long enough), sheath it in an old innertube (£free) and put a good quality roundbody master-lock on it (£14)

Cheers for that link LOL makes me laugh how a lock can be easy taken off a bike. Might as well just leave mine with no lock LOL.

Cannot afford a new one yet but will get one as soon as i can

My ride to and from work today only took 20min up hill
