Alien: Earth

Well this great! A really good start to the series, immediately establishes its own story that I don't think will do any harm to the established lore and hopefully add a good bit of history to the Alien universe only a good TV series can do. Its written and directed by Noah Hawley, who did Fargo, so I'm expecting something good here.

Look out for Adrian Edmondson in a supporting role, and the music has been spot on too.

Watching Ripley on Netflix, an adaptation of The Talented Mr Ripley, starring Andrew Scott.

OK so far but finding it difficult not to compare it to the film adaptation which was very well done and superbly casted.

Haven't read the book so can't say which is closer in tone to the original story.

I watched the first episode last night and it absolutely kills. Fabulous stuff.
A great cast and new creatures too. It seems to live up to the hype.
Loved the Black Sabbath track at the end. I was watching it through the sound system.... loudly. 😀

You'll want to have it louder for the end of 2 (depending on musical taste lol).

Its weekly release now though for the rest, I think I'll be good (and try and avoid spoilers) to binge it all at once.

Tonight is part 2. :okay:
The more I think about it, the better I liked it. Bring it on. The retro sets, the story line, the creatures.

I will also have a second chance to watch it this weekend as Jnr is coming down to stay. He's a big Alien fan but hasn't got Disney+

Well this was quite a confusing sequence of posts!

Ended-up watching a very old Anna Lee epiosode last night. I remember watching them many many years ago. I enjoyed it and felt it stands up well to more recent similar genre programs.

Well I mean Ripley, from Aliens, could appear in Alien:Earth as it set when she is alive. But I think at the exact time of the series she's actually of in space on The Nostromo which I'm sure will be a trouble free voyage and very relaxing for her 👽

Set only 2 years before Alien I think.

I was confused enough with the mention of a second series of Ridley !

Ridley/Ripley easy mistake.

Just to break the Shimano love, I have a pair of the previous version of teh carnac / planet x winter boots and they are excellent. go up 1 size from normal shoes / trainers though.

Me too- but we have got further in. Just one episode left and really enjoying it.
