What Tyre & What size?

I have a Roubaix and find the Mich Pro 3's a very hard ride, they are set to 100psi.

Would a wider tyre help the comfort of the ride?

On the side wall of a spare set of tyres I have it says 23/25. I am confused about this, does this mean they are a 24?

Any help with tyre recommendations much appreciated.

I guess a 700 x 28 would be too wide?

I do rides of about 50 - 60 miles a couple of times a week.
