Now Man Utd have been humiliated and are on the slide what are all the southerners going to do for a football team now?

My theory is that maybe they will start following Man City on the same basis that they convinced themselves they had some allegiance to Man U i.e. Their Great Grandad once went to Manchester while he trained for his National Service so I've supported Man U ever since.

Because of course Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, every other wanky football team in every other wanky league etc don't have any supporters outside their own city limits or indeed welcome them for the extra revenue, do they?

Ridiculous argument and I speak as someone who hates football.

A very fine comment it was too. Straight to the point and concise. Unlike a lot of the meaningless rambling debates you tend to surface in
None of which require your participation. There's such a thing as protesting too much.

WTF. People here thought that new foreign owners with plenty of cash would be the making of Leicester City, but it turns out they want immediate glory at any cost.

I presume you mean the new owners (rather than the people) want immediate glory. I can understand the investors wanting returns asap (that's what they do) and the earnings in the Premier are significantly greater than the Championship. The average fan, I'm not so sure.

Most clubs have a faithful core of supporters who will follow the team regardless of division. Number of fans fluctuate in successful times (at Leicester, it was most recently the O'Neill years... and they may yet return!) They like the glory it's true but 'glory' needn't be Wembley, or Cup victories. It can equally be wet Tuesday evening away wins. Been there, done that.

Goran-Erikson's sacking was an investor's decision, a business decision. Arguably it was a footballing one too in as much as the results have been inconsistent and not the sum of the parts but I personally reckon it was too soon. But then I don't have to pay the interest on the loans.

people laugh at me when asked what football team i support. but its supporters like me who make the game what it is.

proud shareowner in Chester Football club , rescued from the grip of true scum who bled it dry before we got dumped out of the conference.

but i follow a real bal game more ardently- the oval ball game with 15 players. i try and get to see London Welsh but its been difficult recently.

fickle suporters are not supporters at all.

Chester FC - we used to support Chester, in the days of Roger Preece.
