If it is in good condition then the BIN price is reasonable enough.

Hard to judge the condition based on just one ebay photo though.

Checkout when (or if) the fork has ever been serviced. Its an expensive component to have to replace and they do get neglected service wise. £350 seems a bit steep

A Tora coil fork can be serviced easily enough, and as long as it doesn't have scored or pitted stanchions it should be OK. I don't think many MTB owners realise a fork should be serviced, but there are plenty of service kits available on the 'bay, and SRAM step-by step instructions are easy enough to follow. It was a £600 bike back in 2010, but is reasonably well specc'd and well made. It's 3x9 by the way, not 3x8 as in his description. I doubt I'd want to offer him much more than £300 though.

Thanks folks - the follow up pictures aren't that great to be honest. Think I might go new so, out of these two, which one and why?

...which seems to have a better spec, or

I can't decided and know next to nothing about MTBs despite some past input on this here forum. I'm sure there's better for the same money on sale somewhere but this needs to be done on finance, so hence the choice of these two around the price they are. But any other suggestions, I'll happily look again.

I basically want something for riding a few trails but would like something half-decent if that makes sense.
