Nothing wrong with that. Infact it should be encouraged. Most people can watch 4 or 5 different programmes per week and keep track. People into soaps and reality TV shows probably manage a far higher amount

No different with books IMHO.

A good history one, a good high brow fiction, a decent easy going fiction and a non fiction in something that you are interested in leaves you an option every time if you're not in the mood for certain ones.

For bog reading, may I suggest: "A History of Medieval Europe: From Constantine to Saint Louis" by R.H.C. Davis. Plenty of relatively short yet informative sections that you can dip into for as long as you want. Although the original was written in the fifties, it stands the test of time remarkably well

A book written about events hundreds of years ago is unlikely to go out of date

Apropos bog reading, a mate of mine read a few pages of Shogun at a time when he had a dump; it took him 18 months to read!
